About Le Refuge des 7 Tigres (France)

Le Refuge des 7 Tigres is an association established in 2016 with a core mission to promote the practice of Chen-style Tai Chi Chuan. The association follows the teachings of Grandmaster Wang Haijun, a direct disciple of the renowned Grandmaster Chen Zhenglei, ensuring the transmission of authentic art of Tai Chi Chuan.

The association is spread across four neighboring communes in the Parisian region—Antony, Fresnes, Igny, and Verrières-le-Buisson—providing its members  opportunities to train in a variety of locations and times, offering flexibility and convenience. Each of the four groups follows the similar study program and regularly holds joint training sessions and events.

Le Refuge des 7 Tigres regularly organizes seminars led by Grandmaster Wang Haijun. These seminars allow students to deepen their understanding of Chen-style Tai Chi Chuan. These two-day events are highly anticipated and offer intensive training in various aspects of the art, including the Laojia Yilu form, weapons  and the martial applications of Tai Chi. The seminars offer students a rare chance to learn directly from Grandmaster Wang Haijun, an official lineage holder(12th-generation) of Chen Style Taiji and one of the foremost experts in the field.

The core of the association’s activities revolves around the two main forms practiced in Chen-style Tai Chi: the 18-step short form, which introduces key movements from the longer forms (Laojia/Xinjia Yilu) in a more accessible format, and the Laojia Yilu long form, which consists of 74 movements and is the foundational sequence of Chen Tai Chi. These forms are taught progressively, with the short form being an ideal starting point for beginners, and the long form offering more depth for advanced students to master the principles of Tai Chi.
